There is a collection of Bonobos at the San Diego Zoo (oops--make that "World Famous San Diego Zoo" -- they are particular about that!) When I first moved here, I was often off during the week when Kevin was working, so I'd hang out at the zoo. I got to know the Bonobos by namen and actually "befriended" some of them. It was always funny to see the mothers suddenly trying to distract their children--"OH!!!!! BOBBY! Come over HERE and look at the adorable black and white MONKEYS in this OTHER exhibit!!!!" LOL! The bit about bonobos reminds me of years ago when our girls were little. We were visiting an elderly woman neighbor and the girls were playing in front of the TV. Now I have had a negative view of TV content since the 1970s, and I liked to shield my girls from the thinly-veiled smut that passes for entertainment on some of these shows. Well here was the National George show and it was playing this documentary on bonobos, and it went on and on, "...and when the bonobos are upset, they have sex, and when the bonobos are happy, they have sex..." and the bonobos were happily drilling away, and the old lady had no idea why we were trying to get her to change the channel.
